Benjamin and Ella got hermit crabs the other day. Benjamin named his Firecracker due to his black shell with starburst pattern painted on it. Ella named hers Princess Sparkles since she has a pink shell with sparkles all over it. Well, the 'Princess' part seems to be a misnomer...

I'm so sorry Janie, but I thought that was funny in a sick sort of way. Poor Ella of course. I had no idea that the little crabs actually pinched. Guess we're not going to get any.

She was hating the crab, just before I started recording she was saying "I hate you princess sparkles" - Kyle finally got it off by prying it off with the dull point of a potato peeler - the thing never actually uncrimped its hold - it broke the skin a little. It was funny I didn't get it all on video but she sounded so grown up screaming - she even yelled "I can't take anymore, and when it came off she said "for the love of God" LOL - so don't feel bad Ryann i thought it was quite funny too. And i didn't think they pinched either - if fact I had just told her they don't pinch when it happened, so maybe she was hating me?
