Why I prefer the term fat:
Fat is what I am.
I don't subscribe to BMI categories...
overweight? over whose weight exactly? whose ideal? obese...morbidly obese?
I am morbidly obese... who cares
I am active, healthy, happy, and fat.
In fact I haven't needed the services of a doctor in three years including gasp... a completely healthy pregnancy and delivery.
If in the mood I will also use, plus sized or big gal. If you haven't met me before but we need to meet somewhere I'll say "I'm the fat girl with curly hair" and I say it with a smile on my face and in my heart.
